The Buck Stops Here

the worst part about following poor
leadership is the immense disappointment
in one’s self, the doubt that creeps in
forcing the need to question one’s
own fortitude, morality, and integrity

for when it all comes crashing down
and leadership capitulates leaving
it’s soldiers to defend their actions
would I cry following orders
or take responsibility
recognizing that I, alone,
should have made
better choices?
