God’s Favorite Colors

If this isn’t just some sort of glorious accident of fate, and we really ascribe to a supreme being, then I’m guessing said supreme being, to be called God for ease, must have a favorite color or two.  This is what I think.

  1. Brown — Think about it — deep rich fertile soil, rocks that cover the earth, tree bark, and many animals, including humans.  Brown is the predominant skin color out there for many people, as well as eye color.  Given how much there is, God must love brown the most.
  2. Green — leaves, grass, flowers, algae, moss, plants, and stunning eye color — especially in cats.  Sitting here looking out at a pale blue sky behind a curtain of green leaves is peace and beauty together.  Green compliments brown, using it to give us food.  It is soft to brown’s hard.
  3. Blue — the sky, the ocean, and the rare eye color.  This is our small amount color, because it’s easy to be mesmerized by the lapping waves, the waterfall, and the endless horizon.  Blue is the last component of life, for without it, there is no brown or green.  All would die without blue.

These three colors are the basis of life — an infinite loop.  If you are very religious, you could consider them the trinity.  However, that would be trite, and that, my friends, I believe is an affront to God.  Better to appreciate the gift of life and beauty without being sentimental.

I agree with your opinion here. I also find the older I am becoming how much more I enjoy life’s simple beauty. Our environment, earth is truly beautiful with our landscaping, seasons, and creatures. Love your post.
